The design of a range of woven tea towels with graphical motifs, inspired by optical illusions and broken shapes for Normann Copenhagen in 100% thick, hard-wearing cotton.

The idea for the tea towels came from a desire to use the jaquard weaving technique to create new patterns. The detailed weave is perfect to achieve a different, contrasting expression on the front and the reverse side, even though the pattern is the same.

The graphic design is based on geometric shapes and lines, such as grids, pixels, circles, rectangles and checks. The shapes are used to re-interpret elements that are often found on classic tea towels in order to create an up-to-date and fashionable look. 2016
